November 17, 2008. Half-Canadian Beauty Michelle Rouillard from Cauca was crowned Senorita Colombia 2008. She is a 22-year old Concord University (Canada) student. Michelle will represent Colombia at the Miss Universe 2009 contest. Chosen as Virreina was Lina Marcela Mosquera of Chocó who will compete in Miss International 2009.

November 9, 2008. Karla Henry of the Philippines became her country's first Miss Earth titleholder during the grand finals of the 8th edition of the prestigious pageant held at Clark, Pampanga. Her court includes Miss Air- Miriam Odemba (Tanzania), Miss Water- Abigail Elizalde (Mexico) and Miss Fire- Tatiane Alves (Brazil).

November 8, 2008. The new Miss International is Alejandra Andreu of Spain who was crowned at the Venetian Hotel in Macau. Maria Cristina Diaz Granados (Colombia), Anna Tarnowska (Poland), Chang Wen Liu (China) and Zuzana Putnarova (Czech Republic) were the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th runners-up respectively.

October 25, 2008. Two new Japanese beauties were crowned at the Kyoto International Conference Hall. Yuka Nakayama, an 18 year-old model from Fukuoka, bagged the Miss Japan title and will compete in Miss International 2009, while 20 year-old Eruza Sasaki was chosen as Miss Japan World who will represent her country at Miss World 2009.

October 25, 2008. 23 year old Cristina Carmago from Colombia won the 2008 Miss Intercontinental title beating 57 delegates from all over the world at the Musical Dom in Zarbse in Poland. The continental titles were awarded to: Miss Belarus (Europe), Miss Singapore (Asia Pacific), Miss Seychelles (Africa), Miss Brazil (Americas) and Miss Dominican Republic (Caribbean).

October 22, 2008. Mayra Matos, a 20-year old Literature student and a professional model from Cabo Rojo, was crowned Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2009 and will be competing in Miss Universe next year. The 1st runner-up was Miss San Juan, Jennifer Colon; Sharon Gomez from Santurce was the 2nd runner-up and Haydil Rivera from Adjuntas became the 3rd runner-up.

October 12, 2008. Tshokey Tshomo Karchung was declared as the very first Miss Bhutan during the national pageant held at Thimphu. The 24 year-old beauty will compete in Miss Earth 2008 this November in the Philippines.

October 11, 2008. Cynthia Akazuba was crowned as the first Miss Earth Rwanda. Cynthia is an 18 year-old Physics and Mathematics student at the Lycée de Kigali. She will be sent to Manila next week for the Miss Earth 2008 finals.

October 10, 2008. Aurelie Maureli was the winner of the Miss Nouvelle (New) Caledonia 2008 title and will compete for the national Miss France Pageant this December. Julie Tabet and Stéphanie Dubant were the 1st and 2nd Dauphines, respectively.

October 09, 2008. Twenty-two year-old Ying Kun Zhou from the Shandong Province won the 2008 Miss China Earth crown and will represent China in Miss Earth 2008 pageant this November.

October 09, 2008. Caterina Pasquale, 18 years old from the Province of Crotone, was crowned Miss Motors (Italy) 2008 after beating 39 other contestants in the said national pageant. She will automatically represent Italy at Miss Earth 2008 in Asia on November.

October 05, 2008. Karolina Filipkowska was chosen to represent Poland to Miss Earth 2008. She was a finalist in Miss Polonia 2008. Karolina will compete with other international beauties in Manila this November.

October 05, 2008. The Miss Cuba Organization has announced Geisy Hernandez' replacement as the Cuban delegate to the Miss Earth Pageant -due to the government not approving on time her travel documents to Manila. And the organization has appointed Jessica Silva as Miss Earth Cuba 2008. Geisy Hernandez will compete in Miss Earth 2009 instead.

October 05, 2008. Law student Sabrina Anijs from the Netherlands was crowned Miss Benelux 2009 during an event that united 40 contestants from Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg. Crowned as Miss Benelux Belgium was Isabel Van Hoof and Theodora Banica was crowned Miss Benelux Luxembourg. They will all compete in Miss Earth 2009.
