March 29, 2009. Denisa Mendrejová, an Economics student, was chosen as Miss Universe Slovenskej Republiky 2009 (Miss Universe Slovak Republic). The 23 year-old beauty will represent her country at Miss Universe 2009. The Vice Miss, Lea Sindlerova will participate at Miss Earth 2009. Marcela Sevcikova was the 2nd Vice Miss.
Miss Austria 2009
March 28, 2009. Anna Hammel, a 21 year-old student from Gmunden, was crowned Miss Austria 2009 at the American Chance Casino in Kleinhaugsdorf. She will be competing at Miss World in Johannesburg, South Africa this year. The runner-ups were 18-year old Konstanze Heis and 22-year old Dejana Varadin.
Froken Norge 2009
March 28, 2009. Sara Skjoldnes, a 17-year old student from Skien, was chosen Froken Norge (Miss Norway) World, and 24-year old Eli Landa of Stavanger was chosen Froken Norge Universe. Sara will represent Norway at the Miss World 2009 in Johannesburg, while, Eli will compete at the Miss Universe 2009 in the Bahamas.
Miss Thailand Universe 2009
March 28, 2009. Chutima Durongdej, 24, won the Miss Thailand Universe crown. She is a Business Management student in the City University, London. 19 year-old Rujinand Pansritum on the other hand finished as 1st runner-up and will represent Thailand at Miss Earth 2009. Completing the court are runner-ups Ratakorn Sathirabhut, Kedmolee Rojanapradit and Chonthicha Subpaiboonlerd.
Miss Costa Rica 2009
March 26, 2009. Jessica Umaña Solís from Moravia will be Costa Rica's representative to Miss Universe 2009. She won the national title at the Museo de los Niños theater in San José. First and Second runner-ups were Nancy Montero from Heredia and Natalia Alvarez from Desamparados.
Miss World Canada 2009
March 21, 2009. Model and Soprano singer Lena Yanbing Ma is the new Miss World Canada. Lena, who is currently on her Bachelor of Music and Life Sciences studies, will represent Canada at Miss World 2009. Nelly Hadi, Sabeen Chaudhary, Jasmine Pham and Patricia Singh were the runners-up.
Miss Israel 2009
March 18, 2009. Israel's new beauty queens has been chosen at the Haifa Convention Center. Adi Rodnitzki became Israel's Queen of Beauty and will compete at Miss World 2009. Yulia Dyment, Israel's Maiden of Beauty, is off to Miss Universe; Noy Michaelov, Israel's Queen of Grace, will be sent to Miss Earth; and Adaya Zeidman was awarded as Israel's Teen Queen.
Miss Iraq 2009
March 17, 2009. The 63rd Annual Miss Iraq / Iraq's Queen of Beauty contest was concluded in Nineveh where Zeena Zahawi, a 23 year-old Model and Fashion Design student from Baghdad won the event. She will represent Iraq in Miss World 2009. Iraq's Maiden of Beauty was Aure Arnulf, 22 from Baghdad who works in Public Relations and will represent Iraq in Miss Earth 2009. Iraq's Queen of Grace was Galit Sharabani while Iraq's Teen Queen was Sandra Sassoon.
Miss Bulgaria 2009
March 15, 2009. Antonia Petrova, 24, from Pernik emerged as this year's Miss Bulgaria winner. She will compete at Miss World 2009 before the year ends. Elitsa Lubenova from Dve Mogili was the 1st Runner-Up and will possibly compete at Miss Universe 2009. Ruslana Kaneva and Polina Gergusheva were the 2nd and 3rd runners-up, respectively.
Miss Ecuador 2009
March 13, 2009. Sandra Vinces, an 18 year-old student from Portoviejo will be representing Ecuador at Miss Universe 2009 after winning the national pageant crown. Chosen as Miss Ecuador World was 21-year old Gabriela Ulloa from Esmeraldas, while 20-year old Isabella Chiriboga became Miss Ecuador International. Diana Sanchez and Yuliana Delgado were the runners-up.
Eesti Miss Estonia 2009
March 12, 2009. Twenty-five year-old Diana Arno is the new Eesti Miss Estonia winner and will represent her country at Miss Universe 2009 in the Bahamas. The 1st runner-up was Sille Liisi Eving and Julia Lindvall was the 2nd runner-up.
Miss Russia 2009
March 7, 2009. Sofia Rudieva from St. Petersburg is this year's Miss Russia and will compete at Miss World 2009. The 18 year-old beauty was crowned at the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall in Moscow. The Vice-Misses were Svetlana Stepankovskaya from Krasnodar and Ksenia Shepilova from Kohma. The representative to Miss Universe 2009 is yet to be determined.
Binibining Pilipinas 2009
March 7, 2009. Three new beauty queens for the Philippines has been chosen to represent the archipelago at three of four Grand Slam pageants. Marie-Ann Umali bagged the Bb. Pilipinas-World title, Pamela Bianca Manalo was Bb. Pilipinas-Universe while Melody Gersbach became Bb. Pilipinas-International. The runner-ups were Regina Hahn and Rachelle Angalot.
Miss Nicaragua 2009
March 7, 2009. Twenty-one year-old Indiana Sanchez was crowned Miss Nicaragua 2009 at the finale of the national pageant held at Teatro Nacional Rubén Darío in Managua. She will be competing at the 2009 Miss Universe contest in the Bahamas. Slilma Ulloa was awarded the 1st runner-up position and Maritza Rivas bagged the 2nd runner-up place.
Miss World St. Kitts and Nevis
March 7, 2009. Venetta Zakers made history to become the first to win the inaugural Miss World St. Kitts-Nevis Pageant. The first runner-up was Oneika Jenkins while Tesia Burton was awarded the second runner-up position. Zakers will be sent to South Africa at the end of this year for the Miss World finals.
Miss Suomi 2009
March 3, 2009. The new Miss Suomi 2009 is 21-year old Essi Pöysti of Jyväskylä. She will be sent to compete in the 2009 Miss Universe pageant in the Bahamas. The 1st runner-up was Elsi Suolanen, 19, who will probably compete in the 2009 Miss International contest in Asia. The 2nd runner-up was the reigning Miss Finland World Linda Wikstedt. The winners were chosen by the public.
Miss Universe Croatia 2009
March 3, 2009. Crowned in Zagreb as the new Miss Universe Croatia was Sarah Cosic. Sarah is a twenty year-old Economics student from the city of Split. She will be sent to the Bahamas for this year's Miss Universe pageant.
