February 28, 2009. Twenty year-old Cintia Dottone was crowned Miss Universe Uruguay 2009 at Salon Montecarlo, Hotel Conrad in Punta del Este. She will be representing her country at Miss Universe this year at the Bahamas. Vice Reina was Karen Gutiérrez, while runner-ups were Patricia Caller, Nadia Teoduloz and Rocío Torres.

February 28, 2009. The towering blond beauty Iveta Lutovskou bagged the 2009 Česká Miss crown and gave her the opportunity to compete in Miss Universe 2009 in the Bahamas. The 1st Vice Miss spot went to Tereza Budkova, who will compete in Miss Earth 2009, while Zina Štovícková landed on the third spot.

February 20, 2009. A fashion model and student named Kristina Koz-Gotlib, 25 years old, was crowned Miss Ukraine Universe for 2009 at the Freedom Concert Hall in Kiev. The 1st runner-up was 18-year old Antonina Papernaya. The reigning Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela was the special guest in the said national pageant.

February 15, 2009. Jamillette Gaxiola, a Communications major at the Community College of Southern Nevada, is the new Miss Cuba. Born in Havana, Jamillette will be representing the Caribbean Island at Miss Earth 2009 after being chosen at the Miss Cuba Organization casting hosted by Lenz Modeling Agency in Las Vegas.

January 25, 2009. Miss Indiana Katie Stam was proclaimed as the new Miss America at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Stam, a 22-year-old communications major from the University of Indianapolis, beat out her 51 fellow competitors to capture this year’s crown. The runners-up were Miss Georgia Chasity Hardman , Miss Iowa Olivia Myers , Miss New York Leigh Taylor Smith and Miss Florida Sierra Minott .

January 15, 2009. Kaqusha Thaqi, a 19 year-old student from Drenas City was chosen as Miss Kosova 2009. She will be representing the new nation at Miss Globe International 2009. Arbnora Sylejmani, Ariana Morina, Dafina Berisha and Edona Pacolli were the runners-up. Pajtim Berisha was chosen as Mr. Kosova on the event.
