September 30, 2008. Due to unspecified personal reasons, Janina San Miguel, the official Miss Philippines World winner renounced her title. The Binibining Pilipinas Charities replaced her with the 1st runner-up Denielle Castano, who will be officially sent to South Africa for the Miss World 2008 finals.

September 27, 2008. Rachael Smith from Western Australia was crowned Miss Earth Australia 2008. She will represent the land downunder at Miss Earth this October to November. Geraldine Ivankovic (Australian Capital Territory), Rhonda Price (New South Wales) and Deanne Murray (Victoria) were the runners-up.

September 27, 2008. Phan Thi Ngoc Diem will represent Vietnam at the 8th annual Miss Earth Pageant in the Philippines, Bali and Guam. Ngoc Diem, who is a student from South-Central Khanh Hoa province, was crowned Miss Tourism Vietnam last August 2nd.

September 27, 2008. Whitney Toyloy, aged 18, from Yverdon was elected the new Miss Switzerland and will compete in Miss Universe 2009. Toyloy has a multicultural background, with her ancestors coming from the United States, China, Panama and Switzerland. Rekha Datta from Winkel, came second, while Lisa Panigada from Canton Ticino, came third.

September 25, 2008. The new Miss Ukraine Earth 2008 Olga Bilousova. The 18 year-old beauty is ready to compete in Miss Earth 2008 in Asia. Kristina Korobko was the first runner-up and Tatiana Krushelnitskaya from Krivoy Rog was the second runner-up.

September 20, 2008. Karla María Carrillo González of Jalisco is the 2008 Nuestra Belleza Mexico winner and will represent Mexico in Miss Universe 2009. Sinaloan beauties Perla Beltrán was chosen Miss Mundo Mexico and Laura Zúñiga Huízar was Miss International Mexico. They will compete in their respective international pageants next year.

September 20, 2008. Anaïs Veerapatren was crowned Miss Mauritius 2008 and will be her country's delegate to Miss Universe and Miss World 2009 pageants. Laura Grenouille et Rachel Lacharmante were the 1st and 2nd Dauphines, repectively. On the same event, Ashvin Chunnoo won the Mr. Mauritius World title.

September 17, 2008. O. Khulangoo became the winner of the Miss Mongolia 2008 beauty contest that was held in Ulaanbaatar. She has also been awarded with the right to participate in Miss International contest in Macau. A total of 21 ladies competed in the final round of the national pageant.

September 14, 2008. Miriam Leone, a 23 year-old Music student from Acireale is Miss Italia 2008. Italy's biggest national beauty pageant was held in Salsomaggiore Terme as it celebrate its 70th year. 99 other contestants competed in the said event.

September 13, 2008. Angelika Jakubowska, 19 years old from Lubania, is the new Miss Polonia. She will represent Poland at Miss Universe 2009. The 1st Vice Miss Ewa Chelminska will compete in Miss International 2008, while the 2nd Vice Miss Paulina Kwasniewska will go to Miss Europe.

September 10, 2008. Miss Trujillo, Stefanía Fernandez, was crowned the most beautiful woman in Venezuela and will represent her country at Miss Universe 2009. The other winners were Miss Anzoategui, María Milagros Véliz, as Miss World Venezuela and will compete in Miss World 2009; and Miss Monagas, Laksmi Rodríguez, will join Miss International 2009 after being chosen as Miss Venezuela International 2008. Miss Sucre, Natasha Domínguez and Miss Carabobo, Gabriela Concepción were the runners-up.

September 9, 2008. Information Technology Analyst, Ivy Leow Kian Peng won the 2008 Miss Earth Singapore crown and gave her the opportunity to represent her country at the 8th edition of Miss Earth. The runners-up were Caron Chin Tze Lin (Miss Air), Yen Wu Ling (Miss Water) and Chang Wann Wah (Miss Fire).

September 6, 2008. Tatiane Alves from Minas Gerais was chosen as the 2008 Beleza Brasil or Miss Brazil Terra. The special selection was held to determine Brazil's representative to Miss Earth 2008 in Manila. Beleza Brasil will be having its national finals before the year ends where the winner will compete in Miss Earth next year.

September 6, 2008. Florence Loi, 23 year-old marketing operations trainer, was voted Sunday Miss Macau 2008 in a show that was held at the Venetian Macau Resort. She is expected to participate in the Miss International 2008 pageant on the 8 November in Macau. Second place went to Portuguese-Chinese Ana Kuan Barroso, while Cherry Ng came in third.

September 6, 2008. Miss Mexico Lupita Gonzalez was chosen as the 2008 winner of the Miss Continente Americano Beauty Pageant. The finals was held at Guayaquil in Ecuador participated by 18 contestants. The 1st runner-up was Miss Kristina Ruisanchez of Puerto Rico while Domenica Saporitti of Ecuador was the 2nd runner-up.

September 5, 2008. Abigail Elizalde Romo from Coahuila won the 2008 Miss Earth Mexico crown during the national finals held at the Centro de Convenciones Siglo XXI in Mérida, Yucatán. She will represent Mexico at Miss Earth in Manila. The runners-up were Monica Jimenez (Chihuahua), Karina Lopez (Jalisco) and Patricia Gomez (San Luis Potosi).

September 3, 2008. Millennium Queen, the national pageant of Ethiopia for Miss Earth and Miss International has chosen its delegates for the said grand slam pageants. Kidan Tesfahun will compete in Miss Earth in Manila while Nardos Desta will join in Miss International in Macau. Both were last year's Millenium Queen winners.

September 1, 2008. Three more Miss Deutschlands were crowned by the Miss Germany Organization during a special event to select Germany's representative to three international pageants. Dajana Schult was chosen as Miss Earth Deutschland, Katja Bondarenko was Miss International Deutschland and Linda Leiste as Miss Intercontinental Deutschland.

September 1, 2008. Last year's Miss Martinique Earth and Grand Slam Beauty of the Year Elodie Delor will represent Martinique at the 58th Miss World Pageant in Johannesburg, South Africa. The 18 year-old beauty has been well-considered to compete again internationally by the Miss Martinique International Organization after her successful entry in Miss Earth's semi-finals in 2007.
