| Miss Universe Ghana 2008 |

28, 2008. A model from New York, Yvette
Nsiah has been selected as Miss Universe
Ghana in Accra. The 20 year-old beauty will
compete in Vietnam this July. Daisy Asare
Akoto came out as1st runner-up while Joyce
Akagbo was the 2nd runner-up. |

| Miss Universe Canada 2008 |

28, 2008. 26 year-old Canadian-Persian beauty
Samantha Tajik won the Miss Universe Canada
2008 and will now compete at Miss Universe
2008 in Vietnam. Last year, Samantha placed
as 3rd runner-up in the Miss Universe Canada
contest and gave her the chance to compete
in the International Model of the Year 2007
in Korea where she won. |

| Miss Tahiti 2008 |

27, 2008. 20 year-old Hinatea Boosie won
the 2008 Miss Tahiti contest and gave her
the opportunity to compete in Miss France
and possibly in Miss Earth 2008. The 1st
Dauphine was Vaihere Merpaut, Manavarii
Ravetupu was the 2nd Dauphine and Vahinetua
Flaccadori was the 3rd Dauphine. |

| Señorita Honduras 2008 |

26, 2008. Communications and Public Affairs
student Diana Barrasa, 21 years old, was
proclaimed as the new Señorita Honduras.
She will be flown to Vietnam for the 57th
annual Miss Universe contest in July. |

| Caribbean Queen 2008 |

24, 2008. Miss Cuba Marlyn Sanchez, was
the winner of the 2008 Caribbean Queen title
during the PJD2 Caribbean Pageant. A total
of 28 ladies took part in the Pageant. |

| Miss Ukraine 2008 |

23, 2008. Iryna Zhuravska, 18 years old,
won the Miss Ukraine beauty contest held
at the National Palace in Kiev. She is related
to the Deputy Mayor of Kiev. She will compete
in Mis World in her home country. |

| Froken Norge 2008 |

April
21, 2008. Twenty-one year-old Lene Egeli
from Stavanger won the 2008 Froken Norge
competition. She will compete in Miss World
in Ukraine this October. Mariann Birkedal
was the runner-up in the said event. |

| Miss Universe New Zealand 2008 |

20, 2008. Samantha Powell, 20, representing
Horowhenua, is the newly crowned Miss Universe
New Zealand 2008 in a ceremony at the Novotel
Ellerslie, near Auckland City. Hannah Matthews
of Auckland was the 1st runner-up, followed
by the 2nd runner-up Rhonda Grant of Palmerston
North. |

19, 2008. Agustina Quinteros, the representative
of La Pampa, won the Miss Argentina 2008
title during the Belleza Argentina finals
night held at the City of Río Hondo.
She will represent her country in Miss World
this year. The runners-up: Ana Belén
Regatuso (1st) and Camila Solorzano (2nd)
will compete in Miss International and Miss
Earth. |

13, 2008. Miss Rio Grande do Sul, Nat ália
Anderle was crowned Miss Brazil Universe
2008 at the event held in the Citibank Hall,
in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Vanessa Vidal, a deaf
candidate from Ceara, was named as the 1st
runner-up and will compete in Miss International
Beauty Pageant 2008 to be held in Macau. |

| Miss Jamaica Universe 2008 |

12, 2008. April Jackson, an eighteen year-old
Jamaican-British beauty, was crowned Miss
Jamaica Universe 2008. The runners-up were
Doneika Plowright (1st) and Rebecca Silvera
(2nd). The competition was held at the National
Indoor Sports Arena with international RnB
star Keyshia Cole as the special guest.

| Femina Miss India Earth 2008 |

12, 2008. Harshita Saxena on Friday surrendered
her Miss India Earth title, paving way for
Tanvi Vyas, who is now the new Pantaloons
Femina Miss India Earth 2008. Tanvi will
now be representing India in Miss Earth,
according to Femina Miss India Director
Sameer Soni. Harshita Saxena, who was crowned
last week, has landed in trouble for breaching
contract with her previous modeling agency
Gladrags. Gladrags President Maureen Wadia
claimed that Harshita had no authority to
participate in any other beauty contest,
without permission. |

| Miss Costa Rica 2008 |

11, 2008. 21-year old Maria Teresa Rodriguez
was crowned Miss Costa Rica at the conclusion
of a nationwide televised ceremony. Maria
Teresa, who is a former Miss Teen International,
will represent her country at Miss Universe
and at the International Coffee Queen. The
runner-ups were Marylin Marin and Diana
Mackenzie. |

| Miss USA 2008 |

11, 2008. Miss Texas Crystle Stewart won
the 2008 Miss USA crown at the Planet Hollywood
Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Stewart will
represent the USA in the Miss Universe pageant
in Vietnam. Completing the five finalists
were: Leah Laviano of Mississippi (1st runner-up),
Tiffany Andrade of New Jersey (2nd runner-up),
Lindsey Harrington of Oklahoma (3rd runner-up)
and Lauren Merola of Pennsylvania (4th runner-up). |

2008 |

10, 2008. Silvia Cornejo, Miss Peru, is
the first Latin beauty to be crowned Miss
Tourism Queen International. The runners-up
were: Miss China Tong He (1st), Miss Canada
Sahar Biniaz (2nd), Miss Montenegro Dasa
Zivkovic (3rd) and Miss Japan Akemi Fukumura
(4th). |

9, 2008. The 20 year-old University of Wollongong
student Katie Richardson has won the title
of Miss World Australia. Richardson will
now represent Australia at the Miss World
competition in Ukraine in September to October. |

6, 2008. Swiss-Persian beauty, Nasanin Nuri,
20, won the 2008 Miss Earth Schweiz crown
and gave her the chance to compete in Miss
Earth this year. Her court includes Claudia
Wild (Miss Air), Fabienne Stocker (Miss
Water) and Amandine Maschio (Miss Fire). |

old, won the 2008 Eesti Miss Estonia contest
and gave her the chance to represent her

22 year-old Julia Kovaljova was the 1st
Princess while 20 year-old Viktoria Dementjeva
was the 2nd Princess. |

5, 2008. Giannina Ruffinelli, 21, won the
the top title Miss Universe Paraguay in
the 2008 Belleza Paraguaya finals held in
Asuncion. Gabriela Rejala and Marilé
Barrios won the Miss World Paraguay and
Miss International Paraguay titles, respectively. |

5, 2008. India's new queens for the top
three biggest beauty pageants in the world
has been crowned. Parvathy Omanakuttan won
the Femina Miss India World title, Simran
Kaur Mundi was Femina Miss India Universe
and Harshita Saxena was Femina Miss India
Earth. They will represent India in their
respective grand slam pageants this year. |

Kosovo in Miss Universe 2008 in Vietnam.
Miss Universe Kosovo's national director
is Fadil Berisha, who happens to be Miss

Miss Europe contest. |

4, 2008. Twenty-one year-old university
student Hiroko Mima has taken the title
of Miss Universe Japan, beating nine other
girls who vied for this coveted title. She’ll
be representing Japan at the Miss Universe
pageant in Vietnam. Miss Mima is a student
in the Tokushima prefecture. |
