December 28, 2007. Yllka Berisha won the Miss Kosova contest and hopes to represent her country in Miss Earth in 2008 since her country's independence from Serbia is currently on process.

December 16, 2007. Eighteen year-old Humanities student Itseng Kgomotso was recently crowned Miss Botswana and will compete in Miss World 2008 in Ukraine.

December 16, 2007. Belgium's political tensions entered the glamour stakes after it was revealed that the new Miss Belgium does not speak Dutch. Alizee Poulicek, who comes from the country's French-speaking region, was booed by some of the 4,000 audience when she admitted that she could not understand a question put to her in Dutch at the contest at the main Flemish city of Antwerp.

The 1st runner-up was Fabienne Kabeya and Jade Van de Walle was the 2nd runner-up. Poulicek will be Belgium's delegate to Miss Universe 2008.

December 16, 2007. UK-based Cynthia Muvirimi was crowned Miss Tourism Zimbabwe 2007 at the national finals held at the Rainbow Towers' main auditorium. She made history by becoming the first model from the Diaspora to clinch the title since its inception in 2005. Muvirimi will represent Zimbabwe in the 2008 Miss World beauty pageant. Sibusisiwe Dube and Evril Mhembere were 1st and 2nd princesses, respectively.

December 15, 2007. Ksenia Sukhinova, 20, won the title of Miss Russia 2007 in Moscow and will represent Russia at the Miss World and Miss Universe contests next year. Simmona Levenok was the 1st runner-up while Vera Krasova became the 2nd runner-up.

December 15, 2007. Lesliana Pereira, of the northern Zaire Province, was elected Miss Angola 2008. The 20-year old beauty has now placed her province on the list of the winners of this pageant, for the first time. She will compete in Miss Universe and Miss World pageants. Meanwhile, Brigith dos Santos and Patricia Agostinho, both of Luanda Province, stood second and third respectively.

Decemeber 15, 2007. The 2007 Reina de la Belleza del Uruguay coronation helad at the Departamento de Soriano crowned the 18 year-old beauty Tatiana Sosa as Miss Uruguay 2007. Yovana Da Costa and Evangelina Michelena were the 1st and 2nd princess, respectively.

Decemeber 12, 2007. The beautiful Sara Frančeskin, 18, won the 2008 Miss Hit Stars for Miss Earth contest. She will represent Slovenia in the 2008 Miss Earth finals on November.

December 9, 2007. Miss Réunion, Valerie Begue was crowned as the new Miss France in Dunkerque. The twenty-two year-old beauty will represent France in Miss Universe 2008 and Miss World 2008. Four dauphines were also chosen: Miss Nouvelle Calédonie- Vahinerii Requillart (1st), Miss Pays de Loire- Laura Tanguy (2nd), Miss Bourgogne - Vicky Michaud (3rd) and Miss Côte d'Azur - Azemina Hot (4th).

December 8, 2007. Tansey Coetzee, the new Miss South Africa is 23 years old and comes from Johannesburg. She attended Rand Afrikaans University and completed a BA in Corporate Communication. Tansey has had lots of previous pageant experience, she won Miss Tinkerbell Sandton 2004, Miss Allen Glen High School, Miss Eastgate Face of Fashion and Miss South Africa Unity. She will compete at both Miss Universe and Miss World 2008.

December 5, 2007. From 32 candidates, nineteen-year-old Alfina Nasyrova of Almaty was chosen as Miss Kazakhstan 2008 during the finals held at GATOB. Nasyrova will represent Kazakhstan in Miss Universe and Miss World 2008.

December 4, 2007. Marianne Cruz of Hnas. Mirabal beat 7 other candidates for the Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2008 crown. Cruz was last year's 1st runner-up and is currently the Miss Continente Americano titleholder. She will compete in the 2008 Miss Universe contest on May. Runners-up were Miss Distrito Nacional, Yadira Geara (Miss International 2005 1st runner-up), and Miss Romana, Mariel Sabogal.

December 01, 2007. Zi Lin Zhang of China is the new Miss World. She was crowned during the 57th staging of the beauty pageant held in Sanya, China. As the new Miss World, Zhang would like to get involved in the 2008 Olympic Games in her hometown Beijing. The runners-up were Micaela Reis of Angola (1st) and Carolina Gordillo of Mexico (2nd).
