South African model of Indian origin, was crowned the Miss South
Africa 2008 during a gala banquet at Sun City. It was a case of
second time lucky for 24-year-old psychology graduate Keshwar, who

her country at Miss World and Miss Universe 2009. The 1st runner-up

December 13, 2008. Miss Russia Ksenia
Sukhinova won the 2008 Miss World crown over 108 other candidates
during the celebration of the pageant's 58th year at the Sandton
Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. Ksenia was also
the Top Model fast track winner. Miss India Parvathy Omanakuttan
was the 1st runner-up while the Beauty with a Purpose awardee Miss
Trinidad and Tobago Gabrielle Walcott bagged the 2nd runner-up spot.
Miss Angola Brigith dos Santos and Miss South Africa Tansey Coetzee
were the rest of the finalists. The semi-finalists were comprised

| Miss Mundo Puerto Rico 2008 |

27, 2008. Nineteen year-old Miss San
Juan, Ivonne Orsini, won the 2008
Miss Mundo Puerto Rico contest held
at the Centro de Bellas Artes de Caguas.
Ivonne, an aspiring model and student
at the University of Puerto Rico,
will represent her country in Ukraine
for the Miss World contest. The runners-up
were: Yashira Ayala, Miriam Pabon,
Maribel Montalvo and Melissa Cabral.

| Miss Israel 2008 |

27, 2008. A 22-year-old waitress from
Haifa bagged the major title at the
2008 Miss Israel pageant, Tamar Ziskind
was crowned Israel's Beauty Queen
and will compete in Miss World 2008.
The Israel’s Maiden of Beauty
title went to Shunit Faragi who is
a 21-year-old soldier from Kiryat
Tiv'on and will be sent to the Miss
Universe contest. 18- year-old No'a
Avrahami of Tel Aviv was chosen as
Israel’s Queen of Grace who
will represent her country in Miss
Europe; and Linn Mor, 22, who is a
singer from Ya'akov was Israel's Teen
Queen and will compete in Miss Earth. |

23, 2008. Faith Landers from Piliyandala,
22 years-old, who works for Sri Lankan
Airlines was the winner of the 2008
Miss Sri Lanka contest held at the
Colombo Hilton. She will represent
her island-nation in the 2008 Miss
International beauty pageant in Macau
on November 8. |

22, 2008. Vera Krasova, a twenty year-old
model and 2nd runner-up in Miss Russia
2007, has been chosen to represent
Russia in Miss Universe 2008 in Vietnam
replacing the original Miss Russia
winner Ksenia Sukhinova - who will
compete in Miss World on August. |

17, 2008. The representative from
the Abaco Island won the 2008 Miss
Universe Bahamas crown. 19 year-old
Sacha Scott, a student from the University
of Miami, will represent the Bahamas
in the 2008 Miss Universe contest.
21 year-old Garnell Storr was Miss
Earth Bahamas while Amy Knowles was
Miss International Bahamas. Two pageant
favourites didn't show up in the finals
of the contest due to undiscussed
reasons. |

| Miss World Canada 2008 |

15, 2008. The 2008 Miss World Canada
crown was won by 19 year-old Leah
Ryerse of Hamilton, Ontario. She will
compete in Miss World in Ukraine this
October. The runners-up were Simranjit
Singh from Ancaster, Shaileen Stanley
from Peterborough, Tea-Nercita Savic
from Ottawa and Lena Yanbing Ma from
Toronto. The coronation took place
at St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts,
Toronto. |

15, 2008. Twenty-year old Zuzane Jandové
won the 2008 Miss Ceske Republiky
contest and gave her the chance to
represent the Czech Republic to Miss
World 2008. Zuzana Putnárová
was the 1st Vice Miss and will compete
in Miss International while Kristýna
Lebedová was the 2nd Vice Miss. |

15, 2008. Stephanie Kaiser, 27, from
Schaan was crowned Miss Liechtenstein
2008 in Vaduz. The first runner-up
was Daniela Ferreira while Sonja Meier
was the second runner-up. The Miss
Liechtenstein pageant does not acquire
franchise from any international pageants. |

Doménica Saporitti won the
2008 Miss Ecuador contest, she will
compete in Miss Universe this July.
Marjorie Cevallos was the first runner-up
and will represent Ecuador in Miss
World in Ukraine, while Jénnifer
Pazmiño was the second runner-up. |

8, 2008. Three beauties were crowned
in the 2008 Binibining Pilipinas finals
night held at the Araneta Coliseum
in Quezon City. Patricia Fernandez
was chosen as Miss Philippines International,
Jennifer Barrientos was Miss Philippines
Universe and Janina San Miguel was
Miss Philippines World. They will
represent the Philippines in their
respective grand slam titles this
year. |

8, 2008. 19 year-old Sandra Manáková
took home the crown of Miss Slovenskej
Republiky last Saturday night in Bratislava,
she will represent the Slovak Republic
in Miss Universe in Vietnam. The 1st
runner-up was 20 year-old Martina
Tothova will compete in Miss Earth
2008 later this year and the 2nd runner-up
was 20 year-old Lenka Hindicka will
join in Miss Intercontinental . |

| Miss Guatemala Earth 2008 |

6, 2008. 25 year-old lawyer and notary
public Heidi Elizabeth García
Guerrero was chosen as Miss Guatemala
Earth 2008. Heidi is also a model
who has worked in Italy, London and
New York and is currently the Miss
Latina America titleholder (replacing
the dethroned Giannina Silva of Uruguay).
She will represent Guatemala in Miss
Earth 2008. |

1, 2008. Jenyfeer Mercelina was crowned
Miss Curacao Universe 2008. She will
represent Curacao in Miss Universe
this July. Norayla Francisco was chosen
Miss Curacao World while Anaïse
Mogen was Miss Curacao Intercontinental.
Janiree Libier and Zaina Ulises were
1st and 2nd runners-up respectively.
The pageant took place at the Because
Entertainment Center in Willemstad. |

title was won by Miss Tenerife, 17-year-old
Patricia Yurena Rodriguez Alonso.
She will compete in Miss World. The
first runner-up, Claudia Moro of Madrid
will represent Spain in Miss Universe
while Alejandra Andreu, the second
runner-up, will participate in Miss
International. The pageant took place
at Marina D'Or in Oropresa del Mar
in Castellón and was broadcast
live by Tele5. |

Guisselle Rodríguez Flores
won the 2008 Miss Nicaragua contest
and will represent her country in

pageants. The first runner-up was
Karina Alexandra Gordon Hodgson and
Gwendolyne García Leets was
the second runner-up. |

Miss Universe Croatia competition,
that was held in the Kvarner Hotel
in Opatija, is Snjezana Loncarevic.
Snjezana was born in Slavonski Brod,
but has been living in Zagreb for
quite a while. She will be flown to
Vietnam to compete in the 2008 Miss
Universe Pageant. |

from Kharkiv was the winner of Miss
Ukraine Universe 2008 pageant took
place at the Alta Expo in Kiev. She
was the first runner-up in 18th Miss
Model of the World 2005-2006 in Shenzhen,
China. She also competed in Miss Ukraine
2007 in April last year. She stands
178 cm and will represent Ukraine
in Miss Universe 2008 on July 15th
in Nha Trang, Vietnam. |

16, 2008. Madina Taher, a twenty-one
year-old student from Elmshorn of
Afghan descent won over 99 other candidates
in the 2008 Miss Universe Germany
Pageant held at the Steigenberger
Hotel. Kristine David from Meissen
was the 2nd placer. Taher will be
going to Vietnam for Miss Universe
2008. |

3, 2008. The new Miss Suomi and Finland's
representative to the 2008 Miss Universe
pageant is 21 year-old Satu Tuomisto.
She was almost disqaulified in the
competition for being a member of
an erotic dance group. Satu was crowned
during the national finals held in
Helsinki and televised through Finland's
MTV3. The 1st runner-up Susanna Mustajärvi
will be competing at the Miss International
beauty pageant while the 2nd runner-up
Jaana Taanilla will go to the Miss
Europe contest. |

2, 2008. The new Ceska Miss (Miss
Czech Republic) winner is 18-year
old Eliska Buckova, she will represent
her country at the 2008 Miss Universe
pageant in Vietnam. The Vice Miss,
19-year old Hana Svobodova, will compete
in Miss Earth 2008 while 22-year old
Elisavet Charalambidu, the 2nd Vice
Miss, will be going to the Miss Intercontinental
contest. |

Tanguy, Miss France 2008 2nd dauphine,
will represent France in both Miss
Universe and Miss World competitions
for 2008. She replaced Miss France
2008 Valerie Begue after national
pageant officals got disturbed by
Begue's Jesus-like-crucified pictures.
The 1st dauphine, Miss New Caledonia,
didn't accept the offer to participate
in international pageants due to her
university schedule. Despite Tanguy's
represention in two grand slam pageants,
Begue still holds the national title. |
