September 12, 2011. Angola won its first Miss Universe crown! Leila Lopes beat 88 other competitors during the pageant's 60th anniversary show held at the Credicard Hall in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Miss Ukraine Olesya Stefanko was the 1st runner-up, while the home country candidate Priscila Macahado became the 2nd runner-up. Asian beauties Shamcey Supsup of the Philippines and Luo Zilin of China were the 3rd and 4th runners-up, respectively.
Miss Australia Scherri-Lee Biggs, Miss Costa Rica Johanna Solano, Miss France Laury Thilleman, Miss Panama Sheldry Saez and Miss Portugal Laura Goncalves (the online voting winner) were the rest of the top 10.
